Hello from the High Sierra - California
Hi,

I'm a (semi) retired computer programmer/systems analyst (40+ years in Silicon Valley). I'm building web sites for a few people and looking for a good eCommerce solution that integrates with Wordpress. I'm interested in Prestashop, but finding it difficult to learn anything about it -- where is all the documentation? Especially documentation for developers. I've looked at everything that Google can find - articles, forums, etc. but haven't found anything like what is available for other similar systems.

Like most Americans, I'm monolingual and French-impaired (more like disabled), so I'm stuck with only reading things in English.

Jack

PrestaShop can improve their documentation, but it's takes time.

RE: Hello from the High Sierra - California
Yes I know -- good documentation is difficult to write. I'd be happy to do some documentation (in English) -- once I understand Prestashop better! It is almost always true that the best programmers write the worst documentation (if they bother to at all), so they need to accept help from others -- and make some basic information available so others can help!

I'm impressed with the internal documentation (comments) in the Prestashop modules I've examined, but it's difficult to follow the sequencing of modules (which components call which other components, when and why) and the flow of data from the database to display. I'm having to do massive, multi-file searches for variables and functions to try to figure out how things work. Where is the best place to ask some simple questions about the internal structure of Prestashop?

Thanks,
Jack
